1 Cubic Meter Concrete Cement Sand Ratio

Quick ratio estimate for 1 m3 of concrete with cement, sand, and aggregate volumes.

A common nominal mix for general concrete work is 1:2:4 (cement : sand : aggregate) by volume. Your mix ratio may vary by strength or local standard.

Quick estimate (1:2:4): For 1 m3 concrete, cement is about 6.3 bags (50 kg), sand 0.44 m3, aggregate 0.88 m3.

How the estimate works

Concrete mixes are measured on dry volume. A typical dry volume factor is 1.54.

Formula

Dry volume = 1.54 x wet volume
Component volume = (ratio / total ratio) x dry volume
Cement bags = cement volume / bag yield

Bag yield depends on bag size. A 50 kg bag is about 0.035 m3 of cement.
